BioPond Co. grew out of a single, ambitious project — and a refusal to settle for an off-the-shelf answer.
BioPond Co. began with Swannie Creek — a single natural pool built over one winter, entirely by hand, using nothing but research, patience and a willingness to get it wrong before getting it right.
No outside companies were brought in. Every system — excavation, lining, biological filtration, planting — was worked out from first principles and adapted to the site as we went.
The result at Swannie Creek caught the attention of a friend and builder, who asked us to bring the same approach to his own property. That second BioPond is now under construction — and has opened the door to thinking about what this could become at a larger scale.
BioPond Co. exists to take that hands-on, research-first approach to more gardens, more estates, and more corners of the Western Cape.
